I think it was tuesday night. I was just sitting by my computer and I smell something strange and ask Sam if he is burning something. Then i see embers flying past outside the window just as Sam shouts about a fire downstairs. We live on the 21st floor, so embers flying past the window can be a bit worrying :P It turned out it was one of the little gypsy camps downstairs that was burning, and it was burning a lot. The flames were like 5 or 6 meters tall. It was scarier at first when we thought it was the other building burning, but this camp was under some stairs outside, so not really the same. The firemen came and put it out quite fast, and after that it was OK. These camps have been popping up around our streets the last few months. I thought they were just regular homeless people, but I always thought they seemed a bit young and healthy for that. They are even keeping the area around their beds clean, sweeping the sidewalk there. Usually homeless people are ones with alcohol problems or sanity problems. But the doorman says these ones are Romani guys just hanging around waiting for people to throw away stuff and then they sell it. They also go looking for copper I think. Reminds me of The Wire :P
